The quick verdict

Full verdict ↓

Great for Children from 7, teenagers and adults who enjoy colour puzzles like the Rubik's Cube

Think twice if You want a game for a group; this is a puzzle for one, with one set of cubes

How we rate it

Learning curve. The rule is one line: make the pattern. The easy challenges are quick, but the hard ones take real planning because fixing one face can spoil another. We rate it 2 for the puzzle, not the rules.

Luck & skill. No dice, no cards to draw and nothing hidden: every cube is in your hands, so it is all planning and patience.

Interaction. It is a solo puzzle. Others can only watch, take turns on the same challenge or time each other.

Set-up. Pull the big cube apart and open the guide at a challenge. Clicking the cubes back into a 3x3x3 block keeps them together for storing.

Reading. Each challenge's rules are a few lines of English in the guide; nothing to read while solving.

Learning curve: 1 = UNO or Connect 4; 3 = Catan; 5 = a heavy strategy game. These describe the experience, not an overall score.

Is Klixokubes right for you?

Great if

  • Children from 7, teenagers and adults who enjoy colour puzzles like the Rubik's Cube
  • Screen-free time alone in the school holidays
  • Racing your own best time once you have solved a challenge
  • A small gift for a puzzle-loving child or grown-up

Skip it if

  • You want a game for a group; this is a puzzle for one, with one set of cubes
  • Toddlers share the house: the box warns of small parts, and the cubes hold magnets
  • You want lots of set puzzles; the guide has eight, so after that it is speed runs and your own patterns

How Klixokubes plays

Klixokubes is 27 small cubes, each an inch on a side, with coloured faces and magnets that make them click together. Put together, they make one big 3x3x3 cube. To start, pull the cubes apart and pick a challenge from the guide.

  • Time to teach: about 2 minutes.
  • Reading and language: Nothing to read while solving, but each challenge's rules are a few lines of English in the challenge guide, such as which faces must be one colour. A grown-up can read them out for a younger child.

The full explanation: how a game of Klixokubes goes

Each challenge asks you to rebuild the big cube so its outside shows a set pattern. In the easy Perfect Box, every outer face must be a single colour. Another easy one, the Hollow Tunnel, uses only 24 cubes and leaves a tunnel through the middle: each outer face must be one solid colour, different from the others, and the walls at each end of the tunnel must match the face around them. In the medium Color Reverse, the top and bottom faces are each one solid colour while the four sides carry a stripe through the middle; in the hard Wrap-Around, stripes run over the edges from one face onto the next to make L-shapes, and Skillmatics' page also mentions zigzags, cuboids and checkerboard patterns.

Solving means turning each small cube until the right colour faces out and snapping it into the right place, then checking every side of the big cube. Fixing one face can spoil another, so it takes planning.

There is no opponent and no score. You have solved a challenge when the big cube matches the rules. Skillmatics suggests timing yourself and trying to beat your best, which is the way to replay a challenge you have already cracked.

Tip: work face by face, and keep the cubes you have set aside on the table with the colour you need facing up. When you get stuck on a hard pattern, go back to the Perfect Box: it teaches you where each colour sits on the small cubes.

About the editions

Klixokubes is made in India: Skillmatics' own photo of the box back is printed 'Made in India' and names Grasper Global Private Limited, Skillmatics' company, with a factory address in Vasai East, Palghar, as manufacturer. It is new, and Skillmatics' international website doesn't list it yet, so there is no imported edition to look for. Our Amazon.in link goes to Skillmatics' box, item SKILL1879KK.

Before you choose

  • The box should say Skillmatics and Klixokubes, with the line 'The multi-challenge magnetic puzzle that clicks into place!'.
  • Check the contents: 27 magnetic cubes, each 1 inch on a side, and a challenge guide with 8 puzzles in easy, medium and hard levels.
  • The box back should give product code SKILL1879KK, barcode 8904279522152 and 'Made in India'.
  • Skillmatics names Grasper Global Private Limited as manufacturer and marketer on the box back.
  • Unbranded magnetic cube sets are sold under similar names; if the listing doesn't name Skillmatics, it is a different product.

What reviewers and players say

Klixokubes is brand new: the box says it was made in June 2026, Skillmatics added it to its Indian website in September 2026, and that page showed no reviews in October 2026. We found no independent reviews, videos or forum threads, so this rests on Skillmatics' own information. The idea is clear: 27 cubes with coloured faces, eight set challenges and magnets that let you pull the big cube apart and click it back together. It looks best for children from 7, teenagers and adults who like Rubik's Cube-style colour puzzles, with a timer to keep solved challenges interesting.

What people love

  • Magnets that click the cubes together, so the big cube holds its shape while you work
  • Eight challenges in three levels, from quick wins to puzzles that need real planning
  • Nothing to set up and no partner needed
  • A small box that is easy to keep on a desk or shelf

Common complaints

  • Too new for any independent reviews, so it is hard to say how the cubes and magnets hold up
  • Only eight set challenges; after that it is speed runs and patterns you make up
  • Small parts and magnets to keep away from toddlers

Questions people ask about Klixokubes

How do you play Klixokubes?

Pull the 27 magnetic cubes apart, pick one of the eight challenges in the guide and rebuild a 3x3x3 cube so its faces show the pattern asked for, such as one colour on every face. You turn each small cube and click it into place, then check every side. Time yourself to beat your best once you can solve it.

What age is Klixokubes for, and is it safe with its magnets?

Skillmatics says 7 and up, and the box says 7 to 99 years. The box carries a choking-hazard warning for small parts and says it is not suitable for children under 3; we found no separate warning about the magnets on Skillmatics' box photo or product page. Swallowed magnets can cause serious injury, so keep the cubes away from toddlers, check them now and then for cracks or loose magnets, and get medical help at once if you think a child has swallowed one.

Can two people play Klixokubes?

It is a puzzle for one, with one set of cubes and no rules for playing against each other. Two people can take turns on the same challenge and time each other, or one can solve while the other checks the faces.

Is Klixokubes made in India?

Yes. Skillmatics' photo of the box back is printed 'Made in India' and names Grasper Global Private Limited, Skillmatics' company, with a factory address in Vasai East, Palghar, as manufacturer. Skillmatics' product page also gives India as the country of origin.

Is Klixokubes new, and are there reviews?

It is very new. The box says it was made in June 2026 and Skillmatics added it to its Indian website in September 2026, where it showed no reviews when we checked in October 2026. We found no independent reviews or videos yet.
