Great for Children aged 4 to 7 who are just starting to play games with rules

Think twice if Your children are 7 or older: the Found It! Board Game, for ages 6 and up, gives them more to think about

How we rate it

Learning curve. Hear a clue, find the thing. A four-year-old gets it straight away, so it sits with UNO at 1 on our scale.

Luck & skill. Which clue comes up and what happens to be nearby is luck; quick eyes and a little creative thinking do the rest.

Interaction. In Fastest Finder everyone races for the same clue at once; Look and Learn is a calm activity for one child and an adult.

Set-up. Pick a deck, shuffle it, and agree which rooms are in play (or just look out of the window on a trip).

Reading. Each card has a short English clue and a bonus question; Skillmatics' rules have an adult read them aloud, so the children don't need to read.

Learning curve: 1 = UNO or Connect 4; 3 = Catan; 5 = a heavy strategy game. These describe the experience, not an overall score.

Is Found It! Combo: Indoor + Travel right for you?

Great if

  • Children aged 4 to 7 who are just starting to play games with rules
  • Car rides and train journeys: the travel deck lets children spot things out of the window
  • Rainy days and school holidays, when little ones need to get up and move around the house
  • A small, screen-free birthday or return gift for a preschooler

Skip it if

  • Your children are 7 or older: the Found It! Board Game, for ages 6 and up, gives them more to think about
  • You want a game children can play on their own: an adult reads every clue aloud
  • You want a game the grown-ups will compete in too; this one is pitched at young children

How Found It! Combo: Indoor + Travel plays

What you get: two decks of 50 clue cards, one for indoors and one for travel, each in its own case. There is no board, timer or playing pieces, so you simply pick the deck that suits where you are.

  • Time to teach: about 2 minutes.
  • Reading and language: Each card has a short English clue, such as 'something with a pattern', and a bonus question. Skillmatics' rules have an adult read the cards aloud, so children don't need to read, and the clues are easy to say in Hindi or any home language as you play.

The full explanation: how a game of Found It! Combo: Indoor + Travel goes

Fastest Finder (2 or more players): an adult reads out one clue, for example 'something with a pattern' or 'something that is your favourite colour'. Everyone hunts, and the first child to grab or spot a matching object shouts 'Found it!' and wins the card. The first player to collect seven cards wins.

Look and Learn (1 or more players): with a single child, an adult reads a clue, the child finds the object, and then the adult asks the short bonus question at the bottom of the card, such as what the object is used for. There is no winner; the aim is to clear as many cards as you can, and the questions turn each find into a little chat about colours, shapes and everyday things.

On a journey, children can call out 'Found it!' as soon as they spot the object, so they can look out of the car or train window instead of fetching things. Indoors, agree first which rooms are in play and that nothing breakable counts.

How it differs from the Found It! Board Game: the board game, for ages 6 and up, adds a board, a timer and five pieces, and on each turn you draw four clues and look for one object that fits as many of them as possible. This combo is one clue at a time, which suits younger children better.

What reviewers and players say

We found no independent reviews or forum threads about this Indoor + Travel pack, so this rests on Skillmatics' own information. On paper it is one of the simplest games a four-year-old can play: hear a clue, run and find it, and collect seven cards. The two decks give it a clear use at home and on journeys, and the bonus questions turn each find into a small chat about colours, shapes or what things are for. Children who outgrow it can move on to the Found It! Board Game, where one object has to fit several clues.

What people love

  • Gets young children up and searching instead of sitting at a screen
  • Two decks, so there are fresh clues for home and for trips
  • Nothing to set up: pick a deck and read the first card
  • Look and Learn works for just one child and a parent

Common complaints

  • No independent reviews yet, so it is hard to say how long children stay interested
  • An adult has to read every card and judge the finds
  • Children past 7 may find one clue at a time too easy

How do you play Found It! Indoor + Travel?

An adult reads out one clue card, such as 'something with a pattern', and the children race to find a matching object and shout 'Found it!'. The first to find it wins the card, and the first to collect seven cards wins. With one child, you can play the calmer Look and Learn mode instead.

What is the difference between Found It! Indoor + Travel and the Found It! Board Game?

This combo is cards only, for ages 4 to 7: two themed decks of 50 clues, one clue at a time, and the first to seven cards wins. The board game, for ages 6 and up, adds a board, a timer and five pieces, and you look for one object that fits as many of four clues as you can to move ahead.

Can one child play Found It! alone?

Yes, with an adult. Skillmatics lists it for 1 or more players: in Look and Learn an adult reads each clue and its bonus question while the child searches. Children who can't read yet always need someone to read the cards.

Is Found It! made in India?

Yes. Skillmatics' product page gives India as the country of origin, with Grasper Global Private Limited of Mumbai as the manufacturer, and Skillmatics' own photo of this pack's box back is printed 'Made in India'.

Is Found It! good for car journeys?

The travel deck is meant for trips. Skillmatics' box text says you can shout 'Found it!' as soon as you spot the object, so children can look out of the window instead of fetching things, and each deck has its own case to keep the cards together.
